RBI YOUNG SCHOLARS AWARD SCHEME

The Reserve Bank of India(RBI) has launched the RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme to generate interest in and awareness about the Indian banking sector and RBI. Under the Scheme, The RBI will select a maximum of 150 young scholars through a countrywide competitive examination and award a scholarship. Selection test will be focuss on the role and functions of RB and banks in India and will be held in english as well as in all major regional languages. Selected candidates will be required to work on projects in selected offices of RBI for 2 or 3 months and will be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs.7500\- per month during the duration of the project. RBI will assist outstation awardees in boarding and loadging. The awardees shall have no right\ claim for an appoinment in RBI.
All students, between 18 and 23 years of age, currently pursuing their undergraduate studies in any subjects under any recognized university in India, are eligible to take the competitive examination. There is no application fee. The selection test will be held on January 10, 2010 at various centres across India. The result of the selection tes are likely to be announced in the middle of March 2010.

POST METRIC SCHOLARSHIP 2009-10 - INSTRUCTIONS FOR ONLINE SUBMISSION



1. Applications for Post-Metric Scholarship are to be submitted by eligible students in the prescribed form (paper form) manually and also online at the
Website http://www.dcescholarship.kerala.gov.in and http://www.collegiateedu.kerala.gov.in/
2. Principals should arrange to provide to the students, the necessary facilities in the Colleges/ Institutions for online submission of applications.
3. Students applying for the scholarship may be instructed to submit the paper Applications with all the columns filled up and with supporting documents required, attached to the application.
4. Students may also be instructed to register the details required online also at the website http://www.dcescholarship.kerala.gov.in and http://www.collegiateedu.kerala.gov.in/
5. On successful submission of the form online, the system will generate a Web Registration ID (WRID) and also a password which is candidate specific And which are necessary to login to the candidate’s data page in future.
6. Students may be instructed to take a printout of the data submitted. Facility may be provided in the college /institution for taking the printout.
7. The paper application along with the printout of the data submitted online by the candidate has to be received by the principal of the college/Institution.
8. The application and the printout may be cross checked. If they tally, the student may be asked to enter the WRID on the top of the paper-application in the space provided.
9. In case the entries in the application and printout do not match, the student may be asked to correct the data in the online application and update the entries there, before taking a printout of the corrected data.
10. The application of each candidate has to be accompanied by the printout placed at the top of the paper application.
11. Applications may be received till 15th August 2009.
12. All applications which are valid should be recommended by the principal and forwarded in a bundle, to the special officer, Scholarships, Annex, Govt Sanskrit College campus, Thiruvananthapuram through Special Messenger so as to reach There by 16.08.2009.
13. Application on which decision could not be taken, should be forwarded in a separate cover.

CBSE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP SCHEMES 2009


The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi invites applications from eligible students for award of the following scholarship Schemes on the basis of examinations conducted by the Board in the year 2009:-


1. CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child for +2 Studies

Eligibility:

The applicant should fulfill all the following criteria for her consideration for award of scholarship:-

(i) The applicant should be an Indian national.

(ii) The applicant should be a single Girl child.

(iii) The applicant should be the only child of her parent.

(iv) Should be a student of CBSE in class X.(i.e. passed class X from a CBSE affiliated school)

(v) Scored 60% or more marks in Class X examinations 2009 conducted by the CBSE.

(vi) Currently studying in CBSE affiliated schools where the tuition fee for X standard was not more than Rs.1500/- per month during the Academic year 2008-09. In the next 02 years the total enhancement of tuition fee in such schools shall not be more than 10% of the tuition fee charged in the year 2008-09.


Value of scholarship:

Rs. 500/- per month and duration: 2 years only.


2. CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Professional Studies (AIPMT)


Eligibility:
(i) The applicant should be an Indian national.

(ii) Rank in the Merit list of AIPMT 2009 conducted by CBSE.

(iii) Pursuing professional course in Medicine in any Central University/Institution controlled or aided by Central / State Government.

(iv) 10% of the total scholarships will be awarded to those who are otherwise eligible and are the only girl child in the family.


No. of Scholarships: 150 only


Value per month: Rs.1000/-


Duration: Four years (To be renewed subject to eligibility)


3. CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Professional Studies (AIEEE)


Eligibility:

(i) The applicant should be an Indian national.

(ii) Rank in the Merit List of AIEEE 2009 conducted by CBSE.

(iii) Pursuing professional course in engineering in any Central University/Institution controlled or aided by Central Government / AIEEE participating Institutions.

(iv) 10% of the total scholarships will be awarded to those who are otherwise eligible and are the only girl child in the family.


No. of Scholarships: 350 onl

Value per month: Rs.1000/-

Duration: Four years( To be renewed subject to eligibility)


4. CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Under Graduate Studies for Single Girl Children


Eligibility:
All conditions are required to be fulfilled by the applicant:-

(i) The applicant should be an Indian national.

(ii) The applicant should be a single Girl child.

(iii) The applicant should be the only child of her parent.

(iv) Applicant should be a student of CBSE Board in class XII

(v) Scored 60% or more marks in Class XII examinations 2009 conducted by the CBSE.

(vi) Currently Pursuing under graduate course (non-medical / non-engineering) in any Central / State Government University or those recognized by UGC / AICTE.


No. of Scholarships : 550 only

Value of scholarship: Rs. 500/- per month

Duration: 3 years only.

MERIT CUM MEANS SCHOLARSHIP 2009-10


Government has invited applications through online for the Merit-cum-Means Scholarships for the academic year 2009-10. Students belonging to the Muslim and Christian communities who are pursuing the listed technical/professional courses at the undergraduate or postgraduate level can apply for the scholarship.

Eligibility:
>Applicant should be a native of Kerala state
>Applicant should belong to the minority community of Muslim or Christian community.
>Applicant should have joined for any of the listed Technical or Professional courses.
>The annual family income of the parent/guardian of the applicant, from all sources should not exceed Rs.2, 50,000/- [Two lakhs and fifty thousand].
>Applicant should have scored not less than 50% marks at higher secondary/graduate level.
>Applicant should not be receiving any other scholarship for pursuing the same course.

>Attested copies of certificates in respect of all examinations passed


>Income declaration - affidavit on Rs.10/-non-judicial stamp paper and duly notarized/income certificate from employer

Wakf Board Loan Scholarship 2009-10

The Kerala State Wakf Board has invited applications from Muslim students for its loan scholarships. The scholarships are distributed to Muslim boys and girls doing professional courses like engineering and medicine.
As per the allotment for the academic year 2009-10, applications are invited only from those who have joined for the first year courses.
A total of 100 students will get the scholarships this year (MBBS- 35, B Tech- 35, BDS- 11, BVSC- 2, BHMS- 5, BSc Nursing- 7). The applicants should have acquired 80% marks or similar grades in the previous exams and the annual income should be below Rs 2.5 lakh.Application forms are available at the Kochi and Calicut centres of the Kerala State Wakf Board. They can also be downloaded from the website http://www.keralastatewakfboard.org/
The filled up application forms should reach the office of the state Wakf Board in the following address on or before September 30.

LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2009

Life Insurance Corporation of India has invited applications for the scheme of 'LIC GOLDEN JUBILEE SCHOLARSHIP’ for students belonging to the economically weaker families for pursuing higher studies.

MAULANA AZAD NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR MERITORIOUS MINORITY GIRL STUDENTS 2009-10

The objective of this scholarship is to recognize, promote and assist meritorious Girl students belonging to national Minorities who can not continue their education without financial support. Scholarship will be admissible for expenditure on payment of School/College Fee, purchase of syllabus books, purchase of stationery/equipments required for the course & payment of Boarding/Lodging charges.
WHO CAN APPLY :
1. Girl Students belonging to National Minorities, (i.e. Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs)
2. Should have secured not less than 55% marks (in aggregate) in the secondary school certificate examination, conducted by any recognized Centre/State Board of Secondary Education

MERIT CUM MEANS SCHOLARSHIP RENEWAL NOTIFICATION 2009-10.


Applications in the prescribed format for the renewal of scholarships under merit cum means scholarship scheme for the year 2009-10, from the students who have been granted fresh/renewal of scholarship during 2008-09 and who have successfully completed the course during 2008-09. The last date prescribed for receipt of applications in the Directorate of Collegiate Education (Annex), Govt. Sanskrit College Campus, Thiruvananthapuram-34 is 15 August 2009.

NCERT NATIONAL TALENT SEARCH EXAMINATION(NTSE-2010)

National Talent Search Scheme is a flagship activity of the NCERT started in the year 1963. The purpose of the scheme was to identify talented students and nurture their talent. Talent refers to the potentiality that manifests itself in a high level of performance in one or more specialized areas. The scheme, therefore, covers areas like Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law. It honours and helps talented students by providing financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship. For the courses in Basic Sciences, Social Sciences and Commerce, this assistance is provided up to Ph.D. level. For professional courses like Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law this assistance is given only up to Post Graduation.

From the selection year 2010, the NCERT will conduct the National Talent Search Examination for students studying in Class VIII only.
1. Scholarships: On the basis of the examination conducted, 1000 scholarships will be awarded for each group of students appearing for Class VIII examinations. The amount of scholarship will be Rs.500/- per month as per NTS rules.
2. Reservation: 15% scholarships will be reserved for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5% scholarships for students belonging to the ST category and 3% for Physically Challenged Group of Students each in respect of the class VIII.
3. Selection: There will be two-stage selection process for award of scholarship. For Stage-I, selection will be done by States/UTs through a written examination. Students who qualify Stage I will be eligible to appear for Stage II examination conducted by NCERT. 4. The States/UTs will also conduct the selection test for National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme along with the Stage-I written examination for NTS.
4.Eligibility: Students of Class VIII studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the respective Class VIII Stage I examination conducted by the States/UTs in which the schools are located. There will be no domicile restriction.
5.Application Form: You may contact the State/UT Liaison officer for procuring application form. However, application form can be downloaded from NCERT website also. All correspondence relating to application forms should be addressed to the State Liaison Officers (LOs) whose addresses are given in the Website.
